BEACH SPORTS

St Pete Beach has a nice variety of waterfront sports.  Get wet and wild or stay on the sands.

As you walk the stretch of beach along Gulf Blvd. you find many locals and visitors who play beach vollyball.  Jump into a game or bring your own team.  There is no fee but also no guarantee that the courts will be open.  We suggest bringing your own vollyball.  The courts are all first come – first serve.

Into trying new things - check out a Motorized Segway tour. Touring the local area on this high tech contraption is a unique and rare experience. The Segways are independent “people movers” with two wheels and handlebars.  A rider stands on the Segway platform and moves forward/backward by pressing either toes or heels. Take a 1 hour tour of Pass-a-Grill or St Pete Beach on this wild transporter.

Water sports are very popular on the beach. Rent a jetski for a few hours. Have a blast riding solo or up to three people on a jetski.  First timers and advanced riders all enjoy experiencing the waves on a jetski.

For a slower ride on the water, try a paddle boat.  With over sized wheels and a driver’s seat, one or two people can hop on and ride the shore.  A paddle boat is safe and easy to operate.  These floating devices do not leave the shoreline too far - perfect for kids!

For a daring and thrilling waterfront experience try parasailing. This can be enjoyed by children and adults.  Allow yourself to fly high above the Gulf of Mexico and have your picture taken.  Videotape your experience and fly tandem with your family or friends.

Kiteboarding has also become a popular watersport. While there are no daily lessons offered, you can see many experienced kiteboarders fly across the water on a windy day. Look for them while you hang out on the waterfront.
